Understandably I don't believe anything official has been announced as 7029 is the current priority.

    https://www.national-preservation.com/threads/5593-kolhapur.33094/#post-441827

Here's a link to Bob talking about the possibility of a fund being set up for 5593 once 7029 is more advanced. Of course its not a certainty but I for one will not bet against 5593 being next, especially with 5596 currently having the Tysley treatment too! ;)

Ah, so now you're dangling a carrot.........................

I do hope that she is next in line, as I don't think I've ever seen her in steam - if I have I must've been way too young. :(

Still, at least there's Bahama's to look forward to. :)

ive seen Coalhopper and Clunk castle in steam :) Clunk spent the night trying to put her fire out due to a very bad firebox leak and Coalhopper was so out of sorts she struggled with 5 on, this was a gala many years ago, i was on engine sitting duty that night and due to the problems lost a nights sleep , the next day we tried to run Clun, but in the end she failed it was hoped that the leak would seal up as the presure increased, if any thing it got worse and had to be replaced with Frank the yank, that we put in steam as cover as soon as the PIC came in, anyone remember that week end?:eek:

Kolhapur visited the MHR in the mid-1990s. It was rather a gloomy day when I video-ed her. IIRC several of my shots were taken from the "wrong" side because there was no sun and no shadows

I can remember that weekend (I was 13 at the time). It was in 1994 IIRC. I know I was rather excited at seeing these two "Legends" I had read so much about in books and Magazines for the first time. :D.
I remember being very disappointed that both loco's were not in the best of health. One trip with 5593 was that bad we wondered if she would make it to the top of the bank. She was also rather shabby and really needed a new paint job (which she frustratingly had after her visit to the MHR!)
We then went to travel behind 7029 and she was failed so 3278 pulled the train :( 3278 is not one of my favourite loco's. To top it all on that day my camera decided to chew up some of the film from the day so I lost my only pictures of 7029 at Alresford

i was on 5593 on the Sunday, as 3rd man, and the driver , Dave Fewin had driven them on BR, he could do nothing with it,on my 1 trip, i had the blower on, a good fire it just wouldnt steam and none of us could make it steam, i even put the dart through it, something was not right with her, when we got back i had to bail out, to help crew the s160, i was hoping to be able to flatten Meadstead bank but then had to take over on Clunk, to free that crew up, who took the S160 rotters:( instead i had to dispose a very sick castle the firebars were covered in like a sludge from half burnt coal and the split seam was if anything even worse.

Good idea! Although anachronistic I think proper crimson lake suits this class, and as has been said before would be a tribute to Mr Butlin and Mr Bloom for saving her as both wanted her in LMS red.
Would be a shame in my opinion to have her in green when Scots Guardsman already is - but I'm not paying for her restoration, am I?

Unfortunately, if you want to stay historically correct, while 6115 can legitimately carry LMS 1946 black, the rebuilt 6100 only ever had BR green. You have a choice of early or late crests, though!
