Its old hat I know, everyones filmed it everywhere, its really quite sad that one can have the attitude "Oh its only Clan Line on the British Pullman".

But its still worth a crack in certain places I haven't done this place before and its a good sound track.

Lovely chatter, almost clear exhaust and no diesel. I know I am biased but isn't this what it's all about?

I'm sure I'm not the only one in steam-starved Yorkshire who wishes we had something like this on our doorstep!

It was well driven and well fired for sure, thats no mickey mouse haul from a standing start up hill. The only easy thing is there is no pressure to get it done and up to speed quickly.

Lovely sound track. 10 Pullmans and 3 other coaches makes for a very heavy train and 35028 was doing what Merchant Navy pacifics have been doing for a long time in the right hands. And it most certainly looked and sounded like it was in the right hands today.

No need to apologise. If I wasn't over 100 miles away, I'd have been tempted to go and see Clan Line on at least some of these VSOE runs. Always a good performer. I enjoyed the video. Sound was good and NO DIESEL ON THE BACK! I'm booked behind Tornado for the trip to Exeter on Monday, which will have a DBS crew, so if today's trip has run with 100% steam, hopefully DBS will be equally as enlightened in three days' time, especially as the forecast is...rain!

I am hoping for Wayne Thompson and Fred Lewis at some point on Monday. If so then your wish may be rewarded as I suspect they would be delighted not to have an extra 90 tons to drag around with us.

Wayne Thompson really is a master of his craft, never had a bad run with him. It's just a shame we are getting to appreciate his craft less these days.

Detailed RTT doesn't seem to be available for Monday yet.

I don't know all of the ins and outs of the West Coast and NR NE issues but Clan Line's run yesterday, when often worked very hard with such a big load, surely underlines that, if similar weather conditions prevail in the North East around York, then the problem preventing steam running up there surely cannot be related to fire risk! I guess it will all come out in good time, but those suffering zero steam just now have a right to expect those who can sort it out, to do so quickly. It really seems to have dragged on for too long. If I have a major issue in my office we call in the key parties, sit around the table, and thrash the issues out. Is there any evidence that this is happening up North?
