I explained why I know more of the name than any other and the chronology.

I don't feel the need to continue inquisition further, so I refer you back to post 7. loop read repeat as many times as you wish.

Why are you so tied up in not wanting discussion on the history of it's name ?

Interesting discussion re the historical backgrounds of locos, people, horses et al.

Incidentally some folks also changed names - some folks well known;) - and some towns and cities changed street names. Name changing is an ongoing thing it seems.

In WW1 German Shepherd Dogs were remained Alsatians because of anti German feeling and the Royal Family changed from the House of Saxe-Coburg Gotha to the House of Windsor for the self same reason.

It's not the history of its name, its the history of the horse's name. Which is why we don't see why you are chuntering on about it. It's actually by no means unusual for a language to have a different name for a town to what the natives use anyway.

Digressing somewhat, on appropriateness of names, did an ex-GWR employee sneak "The Cattistock" (BR 62758) into the list of LNER Hunts, and was this avenged by an ex-LNER employee slipping-in "Lotherton Hall" (6954)?

The Cattistock Hunt is based in West Dorset, just north of Dorchester, and Lotherton Hall is near Aberford, about 10 miles east of Leeds.

There are rather a lot of Halls named after places not served by the GWR.

There are a lot of 'Halls' off GWR territory, check out 'Witherslack' and 'Burton Agnes' for instances. Oddly the GWR seemed to ignore a few on it's territory, possibly as they had 'difficult' Welsh names :)

Lemberg was named after an employee of the stables, L Emberg, a female favourite of the stable owner
