47245 dep York 1400 taking 5972 to Carnforth. Dunno about the Scot.

As far as I know 46233 has moved today (Tues) from Butterley to Crewe with 37518, which has just (1700) returned to Carnforth.

So I'd seen - WAY too early to be going out for at my end (the start!) and it'll more or less be dark too.......... I think I'll stay in bed!

 

She was sat in light steam outside Southall shed gleaming in the evening sun about 17.30, when I passed on the way to Reading.

 

Someone didn't read the date correctly and went to see it this morning....try again tomorrow!

Well I did go but it was dark! Camera misfired but one awful shot just about shows it going away from me in the mirk.
The new camera is sorely awaited!

I'm pretty sure that the A4 was originally planned to move to Bristol yesterday, 2nd Sept. <BJ>

 

4464 'Bittern' looking very smart, through Keynsham and into Bristol just after 8am.
The support coach appeared to be that of Britannia's Mk.1.

Although early in the morning, I was joined at the station by 3 young teenagers with cameras.
While we were waiting for the A4 a class 66 hauled freight train appeared in the opposite direction.
The lads hardly glanced at it. 46 years after the final BR steam service, steam still rules. <BJ>

I am glad that I wasn't the only one to think it was running yesterday. Thought I was dreaming!
