This is quite an achievement and once again it seems that FGW is prepared to support steam on the system. It must be quite some time since steam went to Brentford. I was on the trip with 9773 back in 1965 when we also dropped down to Staines West (as was) from West Drayton.

The info on the Greenford loop train has been corrected. It is via West Ealing and not West Drayton.

Well it will have to be air braked to haul the sleeper stock.

If you put 4 members of natpress on the pump trolley it will be hot air braked.

When they say "our sleeper train" do they mean the coaches with seats that are part of that train? It would seem very odd to use the sleeping cars themselves.

In a brief flight of fancy I wondered about D821 but I guess that's ruled out as a VB-only loco. Nice thought while it lasted, though!

Two BR Type 2 diesels? A strange choice if I may say so. :)

I was thinking he meant two black 5s... Equally a strange choice ... ;)
