Those who go each year and do nothing but linesiding. I live 130 miles away but go to the Gala each year plus about every two years take the whole family for a few days during the spring staying locally s contributing to the railway and local economy. Probably more than the average gricer of 70 years young does

I went last year and did nothing but linesiding with my WTT and camera...and I also bought a ticket for each day which in total (with the WTT) cost me £65 and a I bought a ticket for my girlfriend to. It's always so easy to stereotype and make assumptions about other people...

    Oh heavens one upmanship.D
Yes got mine today. Very good but doesn't explain what the stock notes mean eg what is Set S or Set N or Set C? Also which way are locos facing as we prefer boiler first haulage and want to do some linesiding before and after haulage. Actually 152 miles from home so 0530 start

Don't wish to become a willy waver but here is a shot of 43106 on the 4pm train at BH on 3rd October 1970. To get there in those pre car days I would catch a train from Ashford in Kent, then U bahn to Euston and then 86 hauled to Wolverhampton, followed by bus to Bridgnorth (Bristol RE from memory). On that day 3205 and the ex GWR railcar were also working

Can't link it as it hasn't got it's own webpage, but if you go to the SVR website, go to latest news, then click on the ASG stop press page they are on there.

Woo hoo, I can make it! Unfortunately I won't be able to rid on the trains with a selection of family and dogs (I have cunningly found a dog walk that just happens to pass by the railway almost all of the time ) but a couple of questions if I may; is station access limited to ticket holders only, like the GWSR gala is? if it isn't then I will quite happily spend some money there on food etc. If it's not fair enough, I've always explained the reasons for the GWSR one as it makes sense, but I'd like to know. Also, is it possible to buy and a WTT online if I haven't pre-ordered one yet, or will I have to go to one of the stations to pick it up?

Thank you very much, I'm looking forward to it immensely, especially the S&D 7F (who isn't!) and the Caprotti std 5. Hop I'm not the definition of freeloader  I did buy tickets for last year's gala but I was ill so couldn't make it if that makes it any better

I've never known us restrict access for the ASG at Kiddy (the only two events we do is santas and forties) and if we were for a change, I would have hear about. So you're fine.
As for the WTT query, it's probably too late to get it in the post but you can order to pick it up at Bridgnorth, Bewdley or Kidderminster, or just buy it at the station on the day.
