There was an 0Z36 11:30 Carnforth-Hellifield-Carnforth test run yesterday (Mon 22-Sep). Does anyone know what this was ? I guess it could have been steam or diesel ?

I believe it was a diesel.

Do I see an easing of the ban here? 6233 had to move rods off a month or so back, yet here 46115 is allowed in light steam.

Could have been checking to see whether the not under power rule was observed.

Whatever the reason, considering the time of year, the fire risk has to be minimal, the costs to a business quite high and the need for a legal solution seems to be looming.

Total aside, but there is an almost unprecedented steam motive power line up at 10A with the return of 46115. Be good PR for WCR to use the opportunity for some unique photo opportunities. BR era Stanier heaven with a bit of Gresley and Bulleid thrown in depending how complete 34016 and 35018 are.

    Good thought,

    whats there currently ? 44932, 45231, 45690, 45699, 46115, 48151, 61994, 60009.

presume 34016 is taking 45690's space in the shed, 34073 in bits outside, 35018 waiting to pop out..

no wonder 73096 is probably waiting 35018 to vacate before heading north ?

All we need now is some railtours..

Not forgetting 5972 seen from train in bright new paint job, next to 44932's boiler outside CRES workshop, (the middle shed) just a glimpse twice last week.

Good update, thanks. Evidently 44932 is not complete either. Must be having an intermediate.

if you remeber, 34067 came to carnforth for repairs so 44932 went south to take its place, when 34067 went back south , 44932 came back to Carnforth nackered after the effort and obviously needed some TLC, possibly 6 months ago, not sure.
