Delayed waiting for a path away from Carnforth and again at Lancaster. Dep Preston 62 late. Arrived Carlisle 38 late.

There have been serious problems at Carlisle this morning with the Tyne Valley blocked by flooding. Today is the first day of the annual East Coast diversions via Carlisle. So EC trains from Scotland have been terminating at Carlisle and going back to Scotland.

Tyne Valley now open again with single line working, so delays to East Coast services and buses replacing local trains Carlisle - Hexham.

No I do not currently volunteer
The delay on the Tyne Valley means that the Compass rail tour to Oban is about three, & a half hours late now due Oban 10 pm..

Some windy footage of 46115 flying past Garsdale this morning, along with a shot of 45699 on the CME at Crosby Garrett.

Just for once the fragile Scot did the photographers a favour by running an hour late, had it been on time the weather was lousy.

    Seen here at Lunds.........LINK.

Lovely light at Stockber, i was probably stood by you, didn't bother turning out in the morning due to the weather (though if i had checked and seen the trains were running late i would have gone!), well worth the drive when you get a result like that.

Video of 46115 lifting her train through Birkett Common and on towards the tunnel yesterday, 8 minutes after sunset. We didn't expect the sun to last but it certainly teased us, especially with the Scot being audible from somewhere around the Stockber area.
