I'm thinking about popping up tomorrow afternoon to get my possible last shot before she moves off to pastures new. Like the Moguls, I will miss her but times move on and with her gone, the past problems are finally put to rest and the MHR have plenty of good replacements to come through the works.

I don't think it matters now that the date has been announced for her departure - that and she's in full public view in the yard.......... as for images from the headshunt, I think that's another matter..........

As for RTT, keep checking it'll turn up........ could be a moonlight flit given the experience with Bodmin..........

One from me last Thursday... was waiting for 34046 to return, so popped into Ropley to say goodbye to the 5!

Wadebridge appeared to be receiving attention in Ropley yard last night, although with only a very few panels obviously removed.
It was good to have 92212 back on the RAT, Nellie also seemed to be doing a good job with the Belle.

73096 was hard to see well, hidden by Cheltenham, but great to see her in the yard once again.

that for some reason the final shot of the 5 seems to me to bring up the pictures of engines taken back in 1967 withdrawn on shed, awaiting the call to the breakers except that in this case its another spell of active use ahead hopefully, not the cutters torch.

She's actually been scrubbed up rather well by the rangers, and the poor buggers looked like drowned rats yesterday, the torrential rain probably just adds to illusion........

    Hmmmm.
Shows that 73096 is/was more highly regarded than 31874, if that's the effort that has gone into 73096's departure.
I suppose 31874 was a bit too old school hardcore for Rangers!

Probably something to do with the criticism about the state of Bodmin when it left.

I "suspect" that a, it would give the rangers something to do other than clearing out the ash pit & the other usual mundane tasks, a b, because she going by rail............ make your own mind up about the latter......

Bodmin, wasn't "That" bad, considering how long she'd been sat in the headshunt........... at the end of the day, it was up to the owner NOT the Rly in what state she left!

Unfortunately, any enthusiasts that saw her during her journey would associate the loco as coming from the MHR, not who owns it. I wonder who oiled her up prior to the move to Carnforth?

If enthusiasts saw her then they would know who owned/owns - depending on who does and therefore know its nowt to do with the MHR, they would only do as bidden, no more......... so kindly stop and let a line be finally drawn under this sorry saga, thank you!

Anyone found the timings for her move North yet? I had a search on RTT and found some interesting movements from Southall WCRC to Carnforth next week (after the 12th) and Southall to Windsor but nothing down to Alton.

WCRC, as she had a layover period at Southall if you remember. Prior to that I believe WCRC staff were at Ropley in the period leading up to the move from the MHR, preparing 34016 for her mainline tow. I would suppose the same will happen prior to 73096 departing.

You got to give the rangers something to do ;)

Will the platform shelter will be cleared for the gala? I heard rumours they expect it to be safe to stand under it but not able to open the building itself.
