Blame the people who actually pay to travel on the Polar Express - it wouldn't last long if they didn't.

So you don't like it then?! If it was steam hauled (top n tailed) , would you charge your mind?

So, to separate the Q question from the N to Okehampton question, which is now in the Dartmoor thread, are there any plans to do a weekend swap of a Swanage loco with the Bluebells Q 30541? The 2015 gala would seem a good time, so that 30541 can once again work the Swanage branch goods. (and passenger turns as well)

No, I don't think I would. I don't like the creeping americanisation of xmas. Bah humbug!

Does anyone know which locomotive/s are in service this weekend please?
I believe 6695 is doing the honours today. A 159 charter will run from London
    to Swanage tomorrow. <BJ>

6695 on the service train tomorrow, with 31806 on Driver Experience and a 159 coming down from London.

On Sunday we are running a 2 train service - 6695 on the 'normal' service train, with 31806 and the 2x Bulleid coaches running extras from Swanage at 10:40, 12:00, 13:20, 14:40 and 16:00. Manston will also be out on the Sunday lunch dining train.

So its a wet Sunday afternoon, and I'm sat in my office opposite Swanage shed. A U class has just left with a couple of Bulleid coaches, paraffin lamps lit on the loco and the rear coach and the crew sheltering under the storm sheet. I can hear a Bulleid burbling away in the background, the distinctive sound of its injectors betraying its presence, and it looks like its time for a brew over at the Drivers Cabin.

We don't really shout about what we do down here at Swanage, but sometimes its nice to sit back and think how far we've come over the years!

I remember running up to the field just beyond the bridge and back again. What has been achieved over the years has been nothing short of spectacular.

I was recently scanning some pictures and came across this one which is a very good illustration of how far Swanage has come since 1991.

Swanage does not have a Southern DEMU anymore, so is that progressive?

Stands back and waits for incoming missiles.

No missiles from me; I'd quite like to have a play with a Southern DEMU rather than these mechanical things...!
