Great shots and videos from all, good to see 6233 doing what she does well with the normal ease.

The late running Duchess at NEWBIGGIN, with some Autumn colours in evidence at last.

Does anyone know the reason for the stop south of Selside this morning - was it signals? I was above Selside and we could see the loco stopped in the far distance (I was without camera kit as I was returning from a family visit and didnt expect to get to see the train) hence the late running. I also saw "orange men" around a signalling cabinet near Ribblehead........ I know the train was also delayed by problems with a diesel at Hellifield

You can see in my video on the approach to Horton station that all was not well as she shut off and started blowing off and came to a stand just after the station . Perhaps stopped for a blow up but I can only guess !

Isn't there a colour light signal around the point the train halted? Maybe it was at danger. The fact that the valves lifted when the regulator was shut suggests there was plenty if steam.
Didn't see the northbound run but it was a subdued passage of Birkett heading south in sepulchral lighting. Once again beautiful autumn sun shone on the walk back! Hope for better luck next week.

Could have been a signal Danny but the unit had long gone up towards Bleamoor so doubt it was because of that .

Odd, perhaps the fire needed cleaning if it had stood longer than expected before taking the train from Hellifield. Didn't seem to be quite at its magnificent best anyhow.

Understand there were power supply problems in the Horton area which affected the IB signal north of the station and the train stopped there.Certainly the following service train was also delayed between Horton and Ribblehead.
