This trip is still showing on the Steam Dreams website (still with 70013) and nothing posted on their social media outlets about cancellation. Is there a possibility it's still on, or have they just not updated anything?

Although it is still showing you cannot book online and it states " refer to booking office". That is a good indication that it has been cancelled ( or postponed). They usually leave it on until the date has passed.

There is a note in the "Timings" section of Steam Dream's website to say this trip has been cancelled due to "engine failure".

Thanks both of you, bit of wishful thinking on my part.

Is the 1st November trip over Shap and S&C a recent addition?

It has been on the website for a couple of months. It was originally due to run in August.

Oliver Cromwell is now rostered to haul the 22/11/14 trip to Chester, instead of Britannia.

Oooh that looks like one to go and see for me shame it'll mostly be in the dark (so I might see her through Haywards Heath then go down to Brighton). Not seen a B1 yet but appropriate as they did appear in Sussex. Also seems to be a repeat of Valentines Day 2011 when 44932 did a circular round Kent during the day and then hauled Brief Encounter Special down to Brighton that evening.

Might have to book on the lunchtime run from Woking. Just hope it doesn't get changed to 34067 nearer the time. I wonder what the load will be as she is coming back up Buriton bank.

Bittern replaces 70013 on the trip to Chester on the 22/11/14.

I'm really glad that 60007 has received a few more assignments as well.

Letter received yesterday that the 20/12 to Sherborne is cancelled as there are no paths available via Melksham.

I think it's to do with engineering work on the GWML and west of England services that would have gone via Newbury now going via Swindon thereby having an impact on where this charter was going.

Seems they were going for a a pretty convoluted route. I'm surprised that there isn't a plan B route from Waterloo - after all, this has always been the logical way to go from London to Sherborne.

They try a diferent route and pick ups each year(last. year was via the south coast). It has been advertised on certain pick up points for many months so I expect an alternative is not viable.

I see SD have renumbered British India Line. The brochure mentions the loco as a future performer on their tours but the illustration is of 35022. Oops!

That's because they couldn't afford the premium price that would have been charged for using a picture of 35028 :)

Was the photo of 35028 needed because 35018 is not likely to be available for some time AL?

    ;)
