Website time table, hopeing to catch the N7 before its ticket runs out, just checking the website, but no matter what day I click on you get the same time table, high season or low season, it green with 4 trains with the last in read and foot note saying only in july and august. If I remember correctly the high season was 2 trains working, 8 in the day or has this changed?

 

Hi Season / Low Season has always been 1-train in service to the GREEN TT.

2-train is YELLOW TT, mainly used for special events.

 

You are right Penny steam it used to be a 2 train service on Summer Wednesdays and selected Sundays using the DMU and a steam loco on the other train, now it is just a single train service.

 

So what is the difference between high and low season as they are exactly the same.

 

High Season the 4th return trip runs, Low Season it is only the first 3.

If there is a Cream Tea out on the Low Season timetable though, the 4th trip does run as ECS because the Cream Tea service starts at Froghall on the 1500 departure.

Confusing, slightly. It wouldn't be fun if it was simple though...

 

It's normally Chris Fletcher who does the welcoming on Footplate Exp Days.

TKh 2944 will be operating Cauldon services this weekend, with a Class 33 attached as Translating vehicle.

Saturday will be a 4x Coach load, with 33 only assisting if/when required.
Saturday Diner is now running to Ipstones (despite originally being advertised as a CVR only). Places are still available if you ring the Office [01538 758491].
Sunday will be 6x Coaches inc Dining Set, so 33 will more than likely be required to assist.

Tickets are £17 / £15 / £11 (Adult / Senior / Child), and allow all day travel.
Trains dep Froghall at 1000 / 1235 / 1510.

 

For those of you looking to do something tomorrow, this weekend is CVR Rail Ale Trail.

Live music at Froghall, variety of beers at each station and onboard both running sets (TKh hauled set / DMU). Limited supply of event Tankards also available. Trains start from 10.30am, finish at 5pm.

 

SciFi Weekend this Saturday & Sunday.

Yellow Timetable (2x train - LHS & DMU).

LHS expected to be hauled by TKh 2944.

At Consall you will be able to watch battles through the ages, as Darth Vader & his Stoomtroopers take on Chewbacca nad friends, whilst Dr Who will be wandering around the railway trying to avoid the notorious Daleks!

 

TKh operating Peppa Pig services today, alongside DMU to the YELLOW Timetable.

 

With Peppa Pig now heading home after her summer holiday, apart from our Wednesday Cream Tea services our next Events is a Wednesday Evening Supper Train (Sept3) and our final advertised 33 Running Day to Cauldon (Sept6).

 

October Cauldon Sunday has now been extended to include Saturday as well.

So 3x return trips Froghall - Ipstones now available BOTH days.

Events list now updated for what will probably be the final time this year.

Majority of Evening Diners have been cancelled due to falling numbers, but with a growing waiting list for Lunch Trains these have remained where we can operate them.

Next public running day is Ghost Train event, which will the N7 / DMU operate the evening timetable.
Then there is an evening Curry Train featuring a Rock Band, again haulage expected to be N7.
Next onto Santas, which will be alternated between N7/TKh before we finish the year with the Mince Pie Specials.
Currently planned to be Top & Tailed to Cauldon, we may be able to offer a little surprise but we'll only know this closer the time.
