Neither did I. Not sure where she was hidden on the two visits I made in the first quarter of this year.

Possibly not at the NRM SHildon....something like Northern Steam Restorations or similar I think.

there was something in the press at the time about it, though I'm not sure it's the whole loco.

Next year should see no less than three GNR 4-4-0s in ticket.(85.131.171). That should be massive, quite unique in preservation I think. It's your bst yet excuse to visit Ireland, you won'tregret it, RPSI put on a good show (on-train real ale bar recommended

Real ale these days. That's an improvement. Last time I went it was endless Guinness.

ah yes, thinking about I might have been a little over enthusiastic there, but the Guinnness was really good last time, even though not as good as real ale.

I rode a Santa ecs to Whitehead in the early 90s. It seemed my Guinness glass was self replenishing. :)

I know what you mean about the self replenishing glass. I went on the Portrush Flyer (in 88?) and did not even realise that we had arrived until after we started back....

After the ecs was parked in Whitehead I was taken for a "quiet" drink. This involved even more Guinness followed by a Chinese back at the secretary's house. This was washed down by a fair measure of Bushmills whiskey. Quite remarkable hospitality.

Is the demise of RRNE factual and reported anywhere ? before wild rumours are spread ?
