Well 44932 is out early Monday but I notice going via Hellifield and Blackburn to get to Crewe, so that route must be available.

Great to see 45699 in steam even if she is having an identity crisis. Would be nice to see her in the South East for a tour at some stage. Afterall Jubes did appear in Sussex on Cross Country trains and 5690 came down to the Bluebell 10 years ago this October. So far my only ride behind a Jubilee (I have seen 45596 at York twice last year though).

try having a look at some of the gwr engines at Didcot, one has about ten different numbers on different bits of the motion. And yes I know its Galatea, . It comes out when it comes out, in whatever livery Mr Smith chooses to send it out in, his loco, he has funded it, simples

I'd be happy if 45699 out up north meant 46115 got to spend some real time in the south.. has it run from Euston yet ?

I wonder if Tysley could lend Carnforth the numberplate and nameplates from 5593, that could help cause some more confusion. David Smith must think this thread is a great joke, and you can't blame him either. Nice to see 5699 in action though, albeit briefly.

I have this feeling that we have been well and truly taken, and what we saw there was quite simply Leander.

Are we sure that 5593 is still at Tylesley anyway and not been restored at Carnforth?

Didn't Mr Beet say that Leanders boilerwork was a few months off completion in SR the other month?

And the rest of the West Coast staff too, some of the stuff posted on here has been laughable to say the least. Well done to WCR in stiring most of you all up!

Agreed and well done to all involved!

Do we not have a resident rivet-counter on this forum who can confirm which one it is ?

Until we have verified evidence of its identify, could we just split the difference?

    45994.5 "Leatea" (or "Galader")

I must admit that not being a rivet-counter I can't tell the difference to the degree of absolute certainty therefore must accept the opinion of those who "know better". That said does it really matter which Jubilee is returned as any will enrichen the Northern Climes especially with the Fellsman season due to start shortly and the Scarborough Spa offering a good running for any WCRC locomotives - especially the 3-cylinder ones.

As with so much of this thread, quite bizarre! Particularly as the cameraman, Richard Harnetty is, and I quote his Youtube profile "a professional photographer for steam trains on the preserved lines and on the mainline"
