So 5043 shall be on the mainline until 2018? I just noticed the update on UK steam. It was updated on April 13!

If you look back and see how long it has been out of the workshop you can work out it is not up.Could you see the Tyseley lads let run out.No way.

I assume the options been taken to do the work that takes a 7 year ticket up to 10 ?.

No I do not currently volunteer
Just to bump this, I note that he had her first test run on 16/10/08 any ideas when her ticket is actually up, just an idle curiosity really as the mainline would be a much duller place without her.... until her younger sister turns up obviously!

I can't confirm a date for 5043, but I would imagine the situation will be similar to her shed mate. Rood Ashton Hall worked her full 10 years and then had a very rapid overhaul due to her excellent condition - the Tyseley locos really don't clock up anywhere near the mileage or wear and tear of their heritage railway cousins - indeed 4965 continued to wear her original 1990's paint job well into her second stint. In fact has she got it still? Maybe someone can confirm! Either way, I doubt 5043 will be away from the mainline any longer than is necessary.
