I've got to admit irwellsteam, I'd have to be a bit of a purist on this one and probably wouldn't be so bothered with 8624 - attractive to the non-enthusiast public yes, but doesn't appeal to me. Now an LMS livery gala with both black and red - count me in! I'd love to see an 8F and Black 5 in LMS black.

    Dare I say 6100 as a possibility?

Will 6201 be available? If it is going in for overhaul after March 2012, what's the expected period out of traffic? Does 6201 actually visit Heritage lines?

The Jinty at the East Lancs in LMS red livery. Now that would be very nice to see next to the Crab.

Talk about quickly? Is Leander being tested on January 28th?

[h=2][IMG] Re: Winter CME, 28/01/2012[/h] And as an added bonus it appears that the section from Citadel to Upperby Jc is being used as a test run for 45690 as well - happy days.

According to details elsewhere 5690 isn't due back until 2013.

So in 2013 we should have the possibility of double headed Jubs?

Well it is good to sort things like this out before the main steam season starts. There won't be any questions to ask until much later this year. To bad though.

I think 5699 was the other loco Gav106 was referring to.

Carnforth don't generally publish when their fleet would be ready, I think the last time it was spotted was a few years ago, looking well midway through, generally they have turned out or done major work on one a year, since 2008 we've seen completion of 46115 (2008), 48151 (2009/10), 44932 (2010), 34067 (2011), so maybe 5690 taking a bit longer and 5699 being finished may both be 2013 ? We have to wait and see, my bet isn't for either this year...

The big question is what's next ?, another southern engine could be useful, as could another MT both do the lions share of work and are easy to pass round the network.

Not before 2014 , unless something is being arranged behind the scenes, something to do with the loan agreement, but doesnt it become nul & void once the engine changes hands? then there is a certain MN thats kind of gone missing after leaving portland or has the metal theaves struck like to see a bent scrap yard owner take that one in! try explaining that away !!

I think you're refering to 35018 British India Line. It's reported on the Bulleid Pacifics thread that '18 is still on Portland, but has been moved within the site so is no longer visible from the street. Now, back to Leander....

I made no mention of 35018 being moved within the site in my post on the other thread, just that it was still there. Where did you pick up that comment from?
