Its a damn shame that we are losing the only running A4 with 60007 out of commission.

But shows the increasing fragility of owning / maintaining / operating steam traction especially with costs increasing; be grateful for what we have and enjoy it while it lasts

I may have missed this, but if this is possibly the last public appearance, where is she off?

Yeah I know about that, however as far as I am aware JC hasn't got planning permission for that yet so is she off somewhere else for storage like TGM?

I was speaking to one of the staff who was looking after No.9 on the Saturday, he mentioned the illness to me, and that JC had allready received a serious offer for the loco, which he declined

I have read that John Cameron has had an accident at home and is, or was, in hospital. I hope it is the latter and wish him a speedy recovery.

Is there any news on JC? I know he has a private life, but he is a very, very big personal donor to the heritage steam movement in more ways than one. I hope he's improving, I really do wish him well. I hope you all do..

I heard from JC yesterday [13/12] and he is recovering well but has decided that future tree climbing is now out of consideration; he'll probably stick to climbing footplates only !

Heritage Railway mag reports JC has now returned home. It lists his injuries as 9 broken ribs, 3 vertebrae, fractured sternum, broken ankle and dislocated shoulder. Definitely more of a splat than a bounce!

Good to hear he is recovering ok and I am sure all on here would join me in wishing him well.

What the hell did he do ? With that list of injuries he's a lucky man. Older people can't shrug things like that off as easily as younger folk do.
I'm sure we all wish him well..
A bit of advice Mr Cameron...............sit well back, take it easy, and be waited on hand and foot. Maybe a bit of gentle physio .:)
