Derby Lightweight Photographs

    Just thought I would share these two photographs.

    The first one is of four brand-spanking new Derby Lightweight vehicles pictured at The Hannages, just south of Wirksworth Station, in 1956. The photograph is an official British Railways promotional shot.

    The second photograph is of Derby Lightweight single unit M79900 Iris, pictured at exactly the same spot 52 years later on what is now the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.

    Lovely shots, especially the colour one of 'Iris'.

    (Thinks...I must put together that DC Kits 2-car set that's sitting in a cupboard some time.... :) )
