We're planning on go to Didcot one weekend next month, but which weekend will have the most locomotives in steam or on display around the centre ?

Are there any special events going on etc ?

    Cheers.

I visited the centre on the 2nd August and thoroughly enjoyed the day, even though it was overcast. There were two locos in steam plus the crane.

I notice comment on another thread that the nearby Milton Depot is being proposed for closure. Milton Depot is where rail/road transfers take place for stock into and out of Didcot.

If this is true, is this going to complicate matters for such transfers, or is there another nearby convenient location?

An article in the latest Steam Railway says that the GWS are having negotiations with DBS to lay a concrete pad at an alternative site. They are hoping it is constructed in time to allow 5322 to visit the SVR & the WSR for their autumn galas.
