Diesel Shunters Weekend

Discussion in 'On Track.' started by Ribble Steam Railway -, Sep 9, 2014.

October 4th & 5th - Its the one weekend of the year when the steam engines on Preston's Ribble Steam Railway get a break and the volunteers roll out the diesel shunter fleet.

Every year the railway tries its best to present something a little bit different and this particular weekend will be an opportunity for you to ride behind the railway's diesel shunters including Ribble Rail's Sentinels on passenger trains or take a trip on a 1950's Railbus.
The Sentinel locomotives are normally only used on the Ribble Rail commercial operation hauling the bitumen tankers along the line.
The locomotives in operation this weekend will be working a special timetable which will give you a chance to travel behind each one and gives great photo opportunities on each day.
