The BRCW Group (104 DMU's on the Churnet Valley Railway) has set up two new ways to generate funds using the computer, and we're currently appealing for supporters to the schemes. Both are unusual in that they don't cost the supporter anything financially, so may be suitable for interested folks on this forum!

The first is a search engine. It requires no registration, just type your queries into brcw.easysearch.org.uk instead of Google and one person can generate around £20 for us in a year. Doesn't sound like a lot for a whole year - but doing the maths if 50 people participate it tells a very different story....

The second is a scheme called easyfundraising. This is a website which allows online shopping companies (Ebay, Amazon, Argos etc) to give a % donation to us if you arrive at their sites through the links on easyfundraising site, instead of thorough a search engine or "favorites" link. This scheme is great if you buy books/DVD's/insurance or anything online, and it doesn't add any cost to your usual shopping. You have to register for this one, as that tells them which good cause you're supporting.

More information on both of the above schemes is available on a new page on our website (CLICK HERE).

I hope there may be a few people willing to investigate from this forum. Plus this appeal has the added bonus of not asking for your actual money during these hard times!

One last thing - If anyone can "spread the word" to friends/family/other groups who may be interested that would help enormously...

    Cheers for your time! :thumb:

(PS: Mods - if this appeal posting is in the wrong place or inappropriate for the forum please accept my apogies and move or remove it!)
