Ian Riley posted on The Works forum that the locomotive was re-wheeled today. The plan is for it to be run in and taken to London ready for Saturday. Exactly what you would expect of this man and his team. They must know the engine almost as well as their Black Fives, perhaps just as well.

I've just seen a photo on Facebook of Scotsman on some running in turns today at the NVR. I think it was in the Railway Photography group (you need to be signed into Facebook and have joined the group to see it) but I've scrolled past the photo and can't find the ruddy thing now!

Seems to have completed today’s run without problem. No reports on either this thread or ‘what’s on’ - are we only interested when something goes wrong?!

60103 'Flying Scotsman' on today's 'The Yorkshireman', seen at Clapham (Bedford), Harrowden Jn and Glendon (Kettering) - with a bonus shot at Sandy the day before.

Either that, or few members of this forum were on it? My tuppence worth is that it looked perfectly normal arriving into York. Getting feedback from someone on the train, there was apparently a bit of Washing Machine shovage south of Kettering and a trundle round Barrow Hill, so all pretty run of the mill.

Looked good when I saw it arriving at York today. It certainly draws the crowds.

Does anyone know if 60103 is capable of pulling a train around the Cumbrian Coast Line
