Went to the birth-place of John Fowler t'other day (Gastard, Melksham, Wiltshire) whilst canvassing for the ______ Party at the General Election. Stunningly 'Adams Family' style house, but not a blue sign in sight!

Would be nice if something was there. Considering that the railway line between Holt and Sells Green (via Bowerhill, Melksham) is completely intact...might be a nice place or a 2' gauge line and John Fowler museum...Melksham desperately needs something!!

Yes , he is remembered in a way, on the hundred's ( 3 or 4) of traction engines that the firm he founded is famous for.
