Looking at the Mid Hants website, it shows 828 as being under overhaul and 30506 awaiting overhaul - I thought that 506 was being worked on? Or is it on hold post-fire? Appreciate any updates on either loco.
<<edit>> just found the ERPS website.

The latest as I understand it are the Urie Group have done as much as they can to 506 before it goes away to have copper work done. predictions if you can call it that after the recent fire are two rears away from steaming. Before the fire they were going to start on the overhaul of 499,s frames.

I know nothing about 828 sorry to say.

You must have been looking at a different page to me. The one I checked is headed December 2009.

After it came out of service in 2001 progress of 30506 was delayed by factors such as the difficulty in confirming responsibility for a heavy shunt incident at Alton which led to the engine having to be taken out of service. Once this was resolved and the finances in place the Urie LS were able to get started on its overhaul.
