Noise abatement

    Heard on local radio this morning - a discussion between Andrew Peach, local radio presenter and John Redwood, Wokingham MP, regarding the noisy horns on the new trains running through Wokingham (presumably Desiros). Discussions have been held with Network Rail and it was eventually decided that one whistle board could be removed to alleviate the problem. That board is on a straight stretch of line at Crowthorne. Only one problem there - Crowthorne is not on the electrified network so how will it affect the desiros? The only 'new' trains running through Crowthorne are Voyagers and they are quite rare! The rest are all Turbos running to Shalford or Gatwick and back (from Reading).
