Roll back 50 years and Pannier tanks on Oxfordshire Branch lines were probably a commonplace sight

roll forward to 2011 and firstly 5786 visiting from the South Devon Railway is captured arriving at Chinnor Station

It was the first time i'd been back to Chinnor for a number of years and to see the beautifully reconstructed Station Building and now the former CLC Mouldsworth Signal Box restored , signalling being reinstated , great cup of tea served from the lovely restored but grounded coach body whilst Red Kites circled above you was extremely enjoyable

A couple of hours later and 3738 rolls into Didcot Halt on the Demonstration Line

Sat on the platform at Didcot Halt , a wonderful job has been done in creating a little piece of a GWR branch line in a corner of an engine shed . Boarding the Auto Coach reminds you how nice the old vehicles are to travel in compared with modern DMU's
