Pathfinder Railtours ran their final railtour today (20/12/25) having started their programme in 1973. Having accepted the changes over many years the current environment has led the company to cease operations with a Farewell Tour from Salisbury to Manchester. From Manchester an add-on tour of a circuit encompassing Bolton; Wigan; Farington Curve; Blackburn; Copy Pit; Todmorden; Rochdale and return to Manchester Victoria gave Class 52 D1015 Western Champion some rare mileage to cover; shown here is the "Western" joining the Preston - Blackburn line after a 45 minute stop for scheduling reasons.

The last Pathfinder charter sees D1015 Western Champion powering away from Searchlight Lane junction near Norton Bridge having just crossed the WCML heading towards Stoke on Trent and the North West.
