I've not done the sums, but I suspect the figures are even worse for Steam Dreams.

That's been my analysis of the situation from the beginning. The proof of the pudding will be what's on offer in next year's programme. As with several other people, I've pretty much written-off this year, which was supposed to be pretty intense.

The only trip I currently have booked with RTC is 'The Wansbeck', but with two other bookings already cancelled, questions over the availability of suitable motive power and a raft of other trips disappearing by the day, I'm not too hopeful, and have the KWVR gala lined-up in the event that its a no-go. I sympathise with RTC, as this is what happens when you are forced to rely upon a near-monopolist that fails spectacularly.

Yes but looked at like that it bears no relationship to the total number planned. You need to take it as a percentage of the number of trips planned. The 44 in 2011 could actually be far more or less percentage wise than the 44 2009.

That's some pretty good work, there. Thanks for taking the time to do it. Bear in mind that Kingfisher went just a few months before PTR.

Sometimes thoughts come out from the blue. Does anyone think that Scarborough Flyers have any chance of returning. Was it a gauging issue Or something else.

Probably a combination of the gauging issue, the fifth trans-pennine per hour meaning ever tighter pathing between Stalybridge and Marsden, and dry weather the last few years affecting all steam to Scarborough in the summer. Ironically it's been cooler and wetter this year and would have run all right from a fire risk point of view but there you go.

I know this is 2016 related but I guess that since the beans have spilled about Flying Scotsman doing January 23? WCME that it shall not be to long that some tours for next year shall be announced.

All RTC trains in the week of Mon 24 August have now been cancelled. I am not sure why ?

Also the loco for the Sun 23 August Pembroke Coast Express is still unclear - will Tangmere be repaired in time I wonder,.
