I have been off work for the week, but my understanding is that DBS are not doing the Yeovil trip with Tangmere. We (DBS that is) are only working with Tornado & Clan Line.

Battersea loop is where the old battersea loco sheds were before Stewarts Lane opened. It is right next to Battersea dogs home, just a few minutes walk from Battersea Park station. The steam loco's will be at the South end of the sidings. The best place to view/photo them is from Stewarts Road, which is off of Battersea park road. you will be just yards from the loco's and all you need to do is look through or over the wire fence.

Tis a busy weekend for us DBS steam chaps! As far as I am aware (been off for the week), the Pad - Yeovil job is being done by another opperator (WCRC ?), but the rest are being done by DBS Southern boys. The plan a week ago was for the two Hoo men (Spike & Tony) to work with Clan Line. Two of the three Hither Green men to do Tornado's second leg of the day over the Surrey hills, whilst myself & Rob Binsted are dealing with Tornado's first stint of the day out & back to Waterloo. Of course things could have changed as far as the Hoo & Hither Green men are concerned, but it will be along those lines.

I’m also hoping to catch her at Eastleigh this weekend. But for once I’m not going to take any photos of her I just want to see and hear her. I some times feel that if you are taking photos you seem to miss out on some think. This is one of those occasions to just stand back and watch and listen.

Thanks again for this info. Just a word of caution Battersea dogs is not the best of areas to be walking alone especially if you have camera equipt.with you. there are a lot of muggings go on around Wandsworth rd./ Battersea so make sure you go with a group.
A mate of mine had his mobile phone snatched in broad daylight!!
    Best regards

More by luck than judgement I passed Tornado being hauled into Waterloo htne picked the right platform to get a shot of it arriving. Vauxhall station was packed with rail fans and we were not disappointed as Tornado stormed through on its first train out of London. As a big Swansea City fan I am now home to see the FA Cup game then back out to film again and ride the evening service! Another clip later...

My wife reports that it's just passed her Wareham to Waterloo train near Basingstoke so looks to be roughly on time.

Couldn’t make it to Eastleigh today. Saw her at Winchester from the car park. Anyone waiting to see her from platform one at Winchester had a big disappointment due to a 450 unit which came in to platform one at the same time.

On time at Pribright Junction on the way down and again on the way home. Here she is at Pribright on the return leg. One amazing site, and the crowd out to see her this morning was fantastic. Normally at Curzon Bridge there are half a dozen or so out with Cameras but thismornign there must have been upwards of 20. Chatting to a guy on the return leg he said it was the same everywhere.

I'm not sure if an answer was ever given to the question regarding A1's visiting ex-LSWR territory, but I bet that one has never visited former SER territory. Tonight Tornado will make it as far as Orpington before heading back up the main line to Grove Park before being stabled at Hither Green depot until Monday.

    Regards,

    Dan
