Three days later, it seems they have at least acknowledged that Tornado was not the first steam train to visit Edinburgh in 40 years. Although I am not clear on what they class as a 'guest appearance', and whether the Aul Reekie classes as one or not!

Its clever statements by Mr Allat that make it sound like its a special event. which in reality it probably isn't but it dons't hurt to put steam operation on a bit of a pedestal.

My first post and going back to the Talisman and Trespass. I fear that with the article's SR and RM have posted it would appear that Tornado becomes tainted the novelty may wear off but I think the PR job done will keep people interested. There have been video's on youtube and pictures showing trespass but having travelled on the Talisman I have to mention one gentleman sitting on a ballast bin south of Doncaster in the middle of nowhere! Another gentleman decided it would be fun to wear a high vis jacket and sit on a plate layers hut outside one of the tunnel entrances going into London(I'm sure its an amazing show but a frozen backside?). I'd also like to mention the fact that Network rail have done a wonderful job of fencing the ECML it's a shame they forgot to padlock the gates in some areas hence more encroachment on to the track.

Apologies for delay in posting again, before I start. #-o

A very well written rebuttal to 'buttress', 1X99. I agree wholeheartedly, as, I would think, do many, many other people. Well said, sir =D>

It must be deleted as I can't find it, unless it has a ridiculous name.

Darren, will you please lighten up and relax for Gods sake, sometimes I despair of some of your rants. you are doing yourself and the Railway no credit on this forum.

Either grow up and post something constructive or leave the Forum, it,s your choice. Myself and others are getting a little tired of your childishness.

Nobody is perfect least of all me and this is not just a dig at you , just trying to make you see that sometimes you make yourself a laughing stock with what you say.

    Take care of yourself.

    Regards
    Chris #-o [-X :-k

This isnt MSN - if people are going to post in this thread, could they please at least try to post something relevant to Tornado?

...so, back on topic, is there any news on whether the trust are still going for 90mph, and if so, what kind of timescale are we looking at?

    CHris

This guy is great! I was watching the guys service Tornado in Tyne Yard yesterday, with only a few trips in his hi-vis vest already looks like it could stand up on its own, everybody else's was spotless! Definitely a hands on member of the team. \:D/

Being plastered in grime is not always a great recommendation. That said you can't really avoid it if you are cleaning but I tend not to wear Hi Viz when underneath.
