You conveniently forget that for most of that time the FR operated without any outside assistance, built the Tanygrisiau Deviation and successfully fought the longest Civil Action in British history. Had you been around in the ninteen fifties, you would have seen the enormity of the task that faced the pioneers.

It is up to the likes of the L&B to prove to others that they are worthy of outside support. The L&B must prove itself to be an asset to the area. Good luck, work hard and the rewards will surely follow.

In addition to employing some 65 full-time staff, independent research shows that the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways generate over £15 million for the local economy each year and create a further 350 jobs in the area.

It'll be more than that now. The research was done a few years back.

Hasn't the FR proved that the L&B can be an asset to its area?
