Not forgetting the transatlantic link to Penn station. Leaving there about quarter to four, Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore....

Blimey - that should help pay for the Carriage Shelter 'extra costs' ! Maybe Santa came early after all....:-)

What is the point of just one heliport? It's a bit like having a railway with only one station. Oh, wait... :)

I basically agree with Tom. But before abandoning my fantasy heliport suggestion, I realise it missed a trick. Instead of a green fields site, the heliport should be on the foreshore at Lynton. That way the underground-railway connection to it...

So, in other words, a set of questions constrained by factors you’ve decided on and fit your vision of what the restored L&B might look like. For those of us not intimately acquainted with the costs of railway preservation, the values wee...

I really don't understand the idea of what you ask. The L&B is the L&B, for this particular railway I think if its done carefully and right that's enough. If you want a fantasy railway with a collection of stuff from elsewhere, with that amount...

Even with a no money limit, I would not close the pub. It's an important community hub now and the railway can sit alongside it quite comfortably and blend in well together. I also would not to over develop the area. It is the gateway to the...

I think I can confidently say that I am probably classed as a trouble maker/sh1t stirrer because Im not afraid to question or challenge some decisions all in the name of 'accountability' although some like to call it something else so that it...

Rowley Moor farm :-) It is certainly the case that questions have been raised about RMF in the past about its current (non) use as a storage outpost. A bit inefficient in the case of 'active' locos and coaches, if the idea were to be merely to...

Firstly, I don’t believe the firehole door is asymmetrically placed (that really would be a turn up for the books!). Rather, it is the staying pattern that is asymmetric. Given that (1) the stays are an integral part of the safe and reliable...

[ATTACH] [ATTACH] Are you quite sure it's "only 5 stays"?

The sub base is about the only item not immediately visible, without a degree of judicious prodding. This is not HS2. It is c.150ft of narrow gauge track, laid this century. Make of it what you will. I just know I'm not impressed

I would rather doubt that give the project update, which says: "This has been a complex project with far more work expected than originally envisaged. As trackwork was removed to enable below ground construction it quickly became evident that...

That picture makes a very interesting comparison with what has just been delivered to Darlington. The difference in the number of flexible stays on the blackhead is startling, presumably the result of an experience curve? I'd like to know more.
