3801 Overhaul

From one of my friends Down Under I quote -
The first run up the bank, with water spraying in front of engine, had to be completed in 23 minutes and she did it in 21.
The second trial, with water spraying in a different location, needed to be completed in 23 minutes again and she did it in 19 minutes.
3801 returned to Thirlmere last night and she sounded great.

 

Negative, don't have a photo readily to hand but were fitted long time ago.

 

The NSW Rail Museum is reopening on weekends from Sunday 5 July with 3801 in steam on display .

Over six days, from last Tuesday to tomorrow (Sunday 27/09/2020) 3801 is running trips to Goulburn or Moss Vale, on alternate days. These trips are being run for extended reliability trialling and crew training. THNSW has been posting each day's timetable, teh evening before, on its Facebook page.

Thanks for the timely posting Spinner. Incredably that we can view Aussie steam action here in the UK on the day it happens. Looks like a blustery spring day there in NSW, similar to here in Yorkshire where it is a blustery autumn day.
