Thank goodness - I don't think this forum is ready for photos of you after 24 hours in the same coach!

Hi The Pic I took of Galatea in Steam was taken on Monday the 18th, From my local Spies at Carnforth she has been in Steam almost ALL week and has been running up and down the yard, Not sure if they are just testing and checking for leaks etc or if they are getting ready to move her!!

Last info came from a mate who passes "Steamtown" daily he said that she had been re coaled and still running up and down the yard. She has still needs a paint Job and there are no numbers on her!! I'm going back tom... Ian

If I were Mr. Smith I would have a lot of pots of crimson lake on order right about now...that would throw everyone!

Especially if he decided not to waste the BR smokebox number plate and BR logos :)

Not sure I could ever countenance an inauthentic livery... but LMS crimson would certainly silence all the "can't wait to see a BR green Jube" articles...

Utterly off topic, but always thought that BR crimson lake would be a fantastic alternative for 46100 if it had to be an inauthentic red livery. Suppose a Jubilee would look equally smart too but the JLC have 'previous' with 46441 in that respect so maybe Leander?

Agreed. The post-war LMS crimson carried by 5594 "Bhopal" would probably be the best fit however.

If Dave Smith wanted an almost clandestine test run for Galberta, what better opportunity than today ? Yorks & Lancs roads crippled by potentially the heaviest Spring snowfall in 50 years ! Which of us " Hardy souls" are going to see it !!!...Andy

The resistance had a key so it was out of the back gate in an Alfa... The motorbike and sidecars with machine guns had no chance against our 140mph top speed.

OK that's all folks back to reality....

When the livery is wrong for the loco, but the livery is authentic, for the period the loco ran in and where, then I say fair game..
afterall the only reason it didn't happen was a management decision not to, had it been a yes instead of a no, then it would have been...
but I'm not game for say LMS on lner locos etc, again unless it was a "might have been"... Castles on the LMS, or A1's on the BR Midland region may have seen a cheeky BR maroon also, as could 8fs in all pregroupings...or a Red Brit or Duke even ???

I would say having an experimental livery return for a while would be nice.

we digress back to Galatea...before I get lynched.

Debut as a finished job 22/5 would be a good bet.
