So this tour doesn't merit comment

61994 is repaired after April, and ready to run off Network Rail metals and along the full length of the Strathspey again

Let's hope the weather holds this year!

East Coast Highalnd Chietain and dinner in the Highlands on the way up - splendid!

This trip certainly merits my money for a ticket! Greatly looking forward to this.

As I'm coming up from Cornwall, I'm getting in as many other attractions as possible. Friday trip on PS Waverley from Glasgow to Rothesay, Saturday may see the newly restored Caley 0-6-0 at work on Strathspey Rly, as a pleasant bonus while we are there. Then on Sunday, could see Morayshire working on Bo'ness and Kinneil Rly. Getting greedy!

    Drumochter or Druimuachdair?

...or even Druimuachdar (which is what is written on the summit board).

Why don't they stick to simple names for summits? Like Shap. Can't really go wrong there!

61994 was at Perth as the Highland Chieftain arrived - with PW at the regulator!

We have found a nice Thai restaurant and a pub that serves Timmy Taylors - Perth's OK!

    Here's to tomorrow

I think it can safely be said that 61994 b roke new ground today - sounded like a 37 up front with the racket - Choost Magic Skupper!

Yeah, in my photo she had been coasting for about half a mile by the time I snapped, but before that, you could hear her for what must have been at least a good two miles! Think ever since the valve repair, she's found a new bark.

Excellent trip, well worth the journey from Cornwall. It was really good to have several station stops for long enough to take photos - the people riding on it got a fair deal. Also, reasonably priced meals brought to your table; so much more sensible than the affordable only by bankers and MPs Premier Class fares which in England are just about the only way to get a proper meal on a train. And a good bar car with some micro brewery beers.
