I'm sure 70000 had air braking when she ran at the NVR so maybe this is a case of having it re-fitted.

It would need doing 'properly' this time though, my understanding is that it was done in a way that allowed it to work with air trains with the ejector / vac system shut down and the air having direct control of the steam brake, or the ejector running with the air system shut down. The vacuum side would need slaving to air for the AWS etc requirements

I'm going to be over in the UK in early August and I was hoping to see Britannia - is it viewable to the public, and if so where exactly?
    Thanks
    Jim

Its at Crewe Heritage Centre http://www.crewewheritagecentre.co.uk

It is viewable to the public, but its currently a rolling chassis with its unfinished boiler dropped on the frames.
