Don't say that Steve; I'm in Reading ( yes, down south ) and rely on the top photos which you always produce to keep me in the loop as they say. Quite a challenge this morning following events which were quite superbly sorted by all involved and great to see the Merchant racing down the WCML under the wires. Many thanks for recording her which gives me enjoyment and I need this together with watching McCartney concerts...all about reliving the past eh !! Steve I liked your video.You did something different.I have an opinion, which is allowed on a forum,Its not to be taken out of context.

 

Fifty-two years to the day since the end of regular Mainline steam in the UK, it seems unlikely that few, if any, (myself included) could have predicted that a Southern Bulleid Pacific locomotive, hauling an all maroon rake of stock, would be seen running down Shap.
However, that's exactly what happened on 11 August 2020 as 'British India Line' hauled the 'Dalesman' from Carlisle to Carnforth.

46115 seen south of Armathwaite with today's (18/08/20) return Dalesman.

 

Stopped at garsdale with ambulance in attendance

 

It is 19:18 and we are still at a stop while the fireman receives treatment in an ambulance.

46115 at Blea Moor Tunnel in awful conditions and finally Waitby Rock Cutting . After talking with the Mods I decided to post my video footage again as I only do this for a hobby so if I film somewhere that is what it is . Sad news the fireman was taken poorly as video's and pictures mean nothing when someones health is at risk .

 

Fabulous footage as always, Steve'. Reminds me of many Yorkshire summer holidays in the rain...and actually, that looks pretty heavy stuff. Now lets hope all is well with the fireman. All the best to him. Pete

 

Thanks Pete , difficult at Blea Moor but I suppose that pales into insignificance with a poorly fireman .
