    Hello all,
Been asked to look into converting a guards van (LMS) into an accessible vehicle. Whilst I can find basic specifications, these don't apply to historic rail vehicles specifically.

Does anyone have experiences or specifications from their own projects?

    Thank you in advance!

Have you had a look at The Rail Vehicle Accessibility (Non-Interoperable Rail System) Regulations 2010? That will give you some guidance on what is required. If you are modifying a vehicle to be accessible you really should be looking at complying with this as much as you reasonably can. In your case it is largely going to be to provide a wheelchair accessible doorway. If it is your LMS Dia D1659 van, I think that has structural cross bracing that will get in the way and an inconvenient brake column in the middle. Not the easiest one to deal with but not impossible.
