I've not followed it too closely but if you are a member of WNXX there are daily reports on the LNER loco hauled thread. I think they just run in the standard paths timed for 125mph and just lose a bit of time.

Indeed, though I’ll declare an interest!

Most often on a diagram of 1D02, 1A19, 1B84, 1B85, 1B88 and 1B89, but other permutations are possible. Largely restricted to Leeds or Newark duties due to driver knowledge, though they do occasionally reach Newcastle.

Not yet, I'm waiting for my tame orthopaedic surgeon to get ready to do ANOTHER hatchet job on my knee. If I book on Leeds to London it's as sure as night follows day that I'll get an appointment letter.
The procedure is called a REVISION total knee replacement, the one that he put in 4 years ago has come loose.:( and I'm in pain...........but nobody cares.:Arghh:

So....How much time are the new machines going to take out of the timetable?

Faster acceleration and they can run at 125 also right?

140 if we sort out the signalling....?

Down here, with the juice, they’ll be faster - I travelled to Bristol on one recently, and we were waiting time at Reading and Swindon. On the Aberdeen road, use the Scotrail HSTs if you want pace. Consensus seems to be faster acceleration to about 40mph, then a 2+9 HST will win a drag race. That Bristol trip got a load slower once the wires ended, despite being downhill towards Bath.

As for 140, that’ll need DfT to agree variations to the PFI contract. And on past precedent, they will do it in a way that allows a decent press release and does nothing to deliver performance.

Oh, and the seats are rock hard.
