I've just finished Peter Pye's excellent book "The Framlingham Branch" - was there ever any attempt or interest in preserving it?

    Just curious,

I got that book. It very good read.

However as for any presevation attempts I doubt it becasue A: There was not really much of a fight against closure which normally what resulted in presevation attempts starting during those times. B. It carried freight for the last years and who wanted to preseve a goods branch? C. I think it was a stuggle for the two nearest local railway society's (M&GN and Stour Valley) to get very far with their schemes. D. Where would have the motive power come from anyway?

I sure Mr. Pye would mentioned it.

Nice idea though, I never been there but the countryside looks very pretty.
