    Great photo John!
I`m very facinated by the station building in the background!:) With its decorative half-timbering it gives some german association.

I`m agree with you John. To me you can`t find a better livery for the Schools than this one  : https://scontent.fosl3-2.fna.fbcdn....=67de9a88eb48576337cacfbe24a3b924&oe=5E8AE86D

Magnificent. Certainly looks better than that sludgy colour they've got it in now...
And even if this engines never wore it in LMS service with that boiler, it's the livery the design is worthy of.
When I make my second* ten million, I'll happily bung them some cash to paint it crimson lake again.
(And let's not start on crimson lake like we have on Brunswick green).

*First one earmarked for a full line up of Talyllyn and Ffestiniog locos in green, including EoM and Mountaineer in steam :)

I think "not remotely like" is a bit over-emphatic, but we get your point!
This is the sort of discussion which has non railway people think we're all pedantic weirdos...

Try guitar people on why the guitar in the Johnny B Goode scene in "Back to the Future" is wrong, since its a 345 model not made until 1958... Apparently the guy who supplied the guitar sent them something that was right for the year, but they didn't like it and specified the later model...

Mind you sometimes the guitar folk are more realistic eg

Didn't something similar occur with the carriages in the 'Dunkirk' film?

There was more wrong with the recent Dunkirk film than a few carriages. A 1940 beach with a spitfire flying over it with a modern container port in the background, filling the horizon for a start.

Not to mention all those modern window frames in the surrounding buildings on the run up to beach. As for the Spitfire that was quite some glide, along the water front. From one side of Dunkirk to the other, could have glided home to Blighty. Saving both man and machine, OK the plane could/would have been written of, but could be used to salvage valuable spares if beyond repair. That was something that baffled the heck out of Goring, the almost endless supply of planes. As many British fighters that were shot down in British skies were salvaged, repaired and re-issued..........

Are we turning this into the 'what's wrong with the latest film/TV program I've seen thread?

Did the rebuilt 'Scots' ever carry BR red like the Jubilees and the Stanier Pacifics?

The Jubilees didn't carry BR red either.

The only locos which ever carried the BR version of maroon were Duchesses and Princess Royals, LMR allocated ones, Scottish region ones remained green

No bad thing to remind ourselves that we aren't uniquely picked on, there are all sorts of things the film industry takes liberties with.
