    Great news. Well done to the government (of whom I'm not normally an admirer) for recognising the value and potential of heritage railways. I was particularly interested in the tie up between Glasgow University and the Caledonian Railway for a research project into how this relatively small operation can expand its operating season and work better with the community. Hopefully this will be shared widely! Anyone from Brechin on here to tell us more?

    Excellent news all round. Good to see the CPRR getting such a significant investment in particular for a relatively small line which is so close to their long term goal - let's hope this gets them there!
