Romney operations

Quick question for any RHDR people or regulars. I used to go to the railway very often when I lived in Kent 20 years ago, but have only been back for odd galas since then as it's now on the other side of the country.

I'm currently laid up with a broken leg and planning a few future outings to pass the time, and wondered how the RHDR diagrams work these days?

Back in the 1990s, Dungeness-Hythe trains all used to swap locos at New Romney, and there were 4 steam, 1 diesel in operation on peak timetable days and 3 steam, 1 diesel on hourly timetable days (when the diesel would come out of service train rotation mid-afternoon ready for the school train). Is it basically the same practice now?

Browsing a few pictures on the net it looks like some trains swap locos at New Romney in the Hythe-Dungeness direction now, and from the look of the timetable there must be a New Romney-Hythe ECS on peak mornings too? I also saw a pic (http://kettlesgalore.fotopic.net/p66251506.html) that suggested the final Hythe-New Romney train on peak days is a non-stop two-coach 'local', or was that a one-off?

Just curious really as being home-based for a few months with this injury has prompted me to make a few plans for going to places I really ought to get back too when I'm on my feet again.

Good point! That was clumsy phrasing wasn't it... Mind you, sure I remember reading rumours over the years that the Romney might be moved elsewhere eventually so must've been subconsciously thinking of those! Glad it stayed put, though.

But yes, I'm now on the other side of the country to it, no one's shifted the RHDR.
