A question for the LMS experts; did the re-built Royal Scots always run with a standard LMS 4000 Gall tender or did they ever use the type that usually ran with the Coronations (non-streamlined of course)?
Appreciate any info - thanks :)

No, never. They always used the nine ton type, and these required the front platform to be raised with an extension piece to match the Scots' higher footplate floor, so it wouldn't be a matter of just dropping the pins into the drawbar of the new tender. https://www.warwickshirerailways.com/lms/lnwrrm2639.htm

The ten ton tenders only ever ran behind Pacifics.

46154 ran with an Austerity tender during the 1948 exchanges. Did this tender require modification?

I don't know, to be quite honest; I've never thought about it. But I'd imagine that there would have needed to be some modifications to allow the WD tender to couple to the 6236, and similar or more for the Scot. As to putting a Stanier tender behind a Bulleid Pacific, I can't believe it was a straight forward exchange.

Doesn’t really look right, but I’ll live with it until I get around to building a correct one (loco acquired with this tender)

You'll need a matching Pacific too!
