I suspect that is mainly as their purchase seemed to dovetail almost perfectly with lock down.

Not sure an 86 is going to suit WCRC livery.

But what a good example of future proofing by West Coast and a way of avoiding buying in other motive power that will, of course, be more expensive than their own.

I believe the West Coast found out the 57’s were a little more expensive fuel wise when they were first taken on. But yes I agree it makes a lot of sense.

I disagree, a 33 looks smart in WC livery so why not an 86? There can't be much difference is size between the two of them.

But how cool does an 86 in electric blue look on a rake of West Coast maroon stock? :)

Another great R.T.C. tour bites the dust the Tin bath on sunday 25 October cancelled due to low bookings i was quite surprised it had been cancelled with how popular the tin bath has been over the years with travellers.

Very surprisingly though on the up side of things the C.M.E. on the 10 October 2020 however is still running despite the new covid 19 restriction rules in place.

There's a difference, though. The CME starts in London and draws most of its passengers from the relatively unaffected south. The break is in Carlisle, also relatively unaffected. The Tin Bath, by contrast, draws its passengers mainly from the restricted areas in the north.

That disappeared off the RYTC website at least a week ago. Probably because 6233 was unavailable for whatever reason and they couldn’t find a replacement engine.

Presumably to comply with the 5th November to 2nd December lockdown in England, all tours in November have been removed from the website.

R.T.C. the Lincoln xmas express on the 5 December not able to go ahead and has been posponed to 4 December 2021 cos of the lack of bookings for this tour, so therefor i transfered my booking to the xmas white rose from London kings X to York return on the 19 December 2020 and received a £10 discount from R.T.C. cos the lincoln xmas express is £99 and the xmas white rose is £109 due the inconvenience of the Lincoln xmas express been possponed. but im just wondering if the xmas white rose be able to set out from London kings X due to engineering works on gas works tunnels opening up the 3rd bore anyone got any thoughts on this here?

Would expect the York to Edinburgh Christmas Flyer with Tornado will become a casualty imminently.

Was booked on, but have transferred to the March 2021 one instead on same route.

I assume York is in Tier 3 so that may possibly impact the other two trips remaining this year.
Isn't non essential cross border travel banned by Scotland?

Promising the York trips may happen then. Last time I looked at the start of the week York numbers looked high, but maybe the larger area approach has helped them.

Not at all. York's figures have recently been very good and it is probably the larger area that has been helped not the other way round. Much disquiet in the city that we are not in Tier 1 but hay-ho. Just glad I do not have to make the decisions.
