Thanks Ralph, but if truth be told it is only two or three miles from where I live. I remember cycling out there for the 1975 shot. It was one that I had forgotten all about until I got home on Saturday and I then spent part of the evening trying to dig it out. Certainly not premeditated, I assure you.

that’s interesting I live in Huddersfield and I don’t think Saphos have ever run a Steam tour over Standedge

looking at RTT for this charter to York, steam to Guide Bridge, then watering i presume just beyond the station, then pulled back into Guide Bridge station by diesel, before heading steam leading again, for Stalybridge and Huddersfield over Standedge, to York, what has happened to Edale route anybody?

Presumably the New Mills landslip. While other routes through the Manchester area to get to the Hope Valley are possible, paths are in short supply.

Turns right at Thornhill, through Wakefield, Altofts, Whitwood on to Church Fenton and then York
