I did want too but work got in the way :'-(, the nature of it means I can't really stick to rosters as i have ever changing shifts. I don't know how you do it all the way from Cambridge!
I'm saving for a big camera now, hopefully Santa will help out with the lense :)

Don't worry I have Thursday 11th March booked off already

Thought I would just give an update on the crossing. Yesterday 8 hardy souls (I was't one of them, am stuck in pompey) removed the fencing around the headshunt and errecting temporary fencing arond the site. Ballast was cleared to make slewing the headshunt easier next weekend. (I will be there for that). The bufferstop was jacked up to allow easy removal this week and a load of shrubs were removed from around the headshunt. Next weekend the headshunt will be slewed, Ottendorf green will be excavated and flat bottom rail with concrete sleepers layed out onto the green. I will try and get some pictures whilst up there next weekend.

Most of the headshunt at Sheringham has been realigned so that it matches up with Network Rail's line across the road. The new formation across the green has also been excavated over the weekend. Hopefully one of the websites will publish some photos of the weekend's work soon.

    It's nearly there...!

I can't believe that no one has posted or commented on the crossing recently! To bring you all up to date, the 'Big' weekend was over the 20th/21st February when the track was laid across Station Road in Sheringham. The NNR currently reaches to within about 20feet of the end of the Network Rail line to Sheringham. The crossing panels were being installed today. Although delayed from last weekend, the physical connection should take place this coming weekend. A few pictures from last weekend attached. Roll on 11th of March when 70013 crosses to the NNR.

Shame we couldn't connect to Network Rail. They had some issue that prevented it. The NNR was fully ready to do it. Oh well. Hopefully we will be connected this weekend!

I doubt that will happen, the whole point was to check the crossing. Though it is a network jolly round east anglia so it might still go up the sheringham branch.

The final length of track was laid overnight last night, finally connecting the NNR to the national network once again.

As I type a Class 37 'test train' is working its way up to Holt, having just crossed the road. A proud day for the many people involved in getting this far.

The finishing touches and tidying up will be done over the next few days ready for Oliver Cromwell to haul the first passenger train over the crossing on Thursday.

Wow! Fantastic! Even the sun shone for you. An excellent achievement for the NNR and everyone concerned.
