    It is signals like this which emphasize why you need to sign the road. The most likely scenario is that the smaller low arm is for a route into a goods loop on left.

    This answer is not difinative as sometimes the obvious answer is wrong due to local circumstances

    The SVR has something similar at Bewdley

    The use of a lattice post for the main post is most likely due to the original wood post failing, probably due to rot. I don't know what the ground conditions are like in the area, but perhaps they decided the lattice post was a better long-term solution. Presumably this signal has now been replaced by a modern CL signal?
