    Hello,

I am very interested in the above locomotive but have been unable to attend any of the Statfold Barn Railway's Open Days (due to working commitments on a Saturday).

My question is, does anyone have any drawings/plans for this locomotive or are any available for public use? I would like to put together a model of the locomotive and proportions tend to go a bit awry when only using photographs.

    Hope to hear from you,

    Ben

Thank you, I have since posting this managed to track some down from the museum of English rural life. I am planning on computer modelling some of the Statfold stock and I am in the process of collecting data on each of them. So far, Marchlyn and Saccharine are in the works.

    Thanks again,

    Ben

    Ben,

Drawings of some very similar (and possibly identical) Fowlers to SACCHARINE may be found in "Cane Train" by Peter Dyer and Peter Hodge, an NZ-published book about the sugar railways of Fiji. Don't have my copy to hand at this moment but will respond (ISBN, specific locos featured etc) more fully this evening. It is still in print.

    Hope this helps,

    Mark

Thank you Mark, I managed to get hold of the drawings from the Museum of English Rural Life but that book is worth keeping in mind for other Fowler locomotives.

Thank you too Henry - I have sent you an email.

    Ben,

No problem - glad you've made progress.

Just in case anyone else is interested, "Cane Train" is ISBN 0-908573-50-2 and is published by the NZ Railway and Locomotive Society. It can be ordered from their website or occasionally picked up second hand in UK. A comprehensive history with plenty of loco drawings, maps, track plans, photos etc.

    Regards,

    Mark

    Thanks Mark,

I hope Lautoka gets a big chunk of the book?
